Coursera has released its latest Global Skills Report, sharing key information on business skills and technology capabilities in the U.S. and around the world. The report cites the acceleration of digital transformation, inflation and global instability as factors driving the demand for digital skills.

The report places the US in 29th place in overall capacity, behind Asian and European countries. The country’s technological skills capacity fell from 69% in 2021 to 43% in 2022. Data science skills fell from 73% to 54% in the same year. Interestingly, Idaho was the winner of the tech skills race (though surpassing well-known tech centers in California and Massachusetts), according to the report, which shows a 61% increase in the number of technology companies moving there over the past decade.
