13:00 – 13:30: Behind the graphic package: ESPN’s Peyton and Eli ManningCast
Building a well-known graphic package on Monday Night Football’s Manningcast posed a unique challenge for ESPN’s design team, both operationally and creatively. First, the team had to create a brand new package from scratch in a very short amount of time, after Manningcast announced less than two months before the start of the 2021 NFL season. And second, ESPN’s creations were responsible for providing graphics that were equally fun and informative, and provided the show’s “walk-in” format. Get an inside look at how it came together to create one of the newest graphic packages of the year.

From innovative remote production workflows to spectacular virtual studios, BBC Sport has been revamped in a number of ways to cover Tokyo 2020 and the 2022 Beijing Olympics. After taking advantage of a large number of virtual coverage studios in Tokyo 2020, BB BB introduced a new VR studio in Beijing that took viewers from a wooden log cabin to a virtual ski resort and beyond. See inside BBC Sport’s virtual studio efforts for the two Olympics were different in focus, but in the end they served the same purpose.
