AUGUSTA HEALTH COVID AND VACCINE UPDATE: June 13, 2022

Current COVID Status

The CDC has lowered the average COVID-19 level in our community. This means:

  • If you are at high risk for serious illness or complications, you should talk to your healthcare provider to find out if you need to wear a mask or take other measures;
  • Take the COVID-19 test if you have symptoms;
  • Stay tuned for vaccines;
  • Wash your hands and walk away socially.

Augusta Health’s COVID census is stable. Our current COVID-19 hospital census is nine, with no deaths in the last week. On Monday, June 13, 24 hours before 9:00 a.m., 17 new positive COVID-17 cases were diagnosed at Augusta Health testing sites. There were 20 positive cases in Sunday’s report and 20 positive cases in Saturday’s report. COVID tests are available at Augusta Health Care Centers.

The positivity rate for our Augusta Health test for the week of June 6th to 11th was 15.9% For the week of May 29th to June 4th, the rate was 25.9%. In May, the rate was 22.1%.

We are now offering vaccines, including a booster, for 5 to 11 year olds.

Vaccines in Primary Care Offices

Vaccines against COVID-19 continue Augusta Medical Group primary care offices. Patients wishing to receive a vaccine or booster from their personal physician should contact the physician’s office to schedule the next available vaccination appointment block.

Community Based Clinics

Augusta Health will offer community clinics at Bridgewater College on Thursday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to noon; Embrace / Latinxen Thursday, June 16, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m .; At Gypsy Hill House on Tuesday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m .; and in the Plaza Apartments on Wednesday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Vaccination Call Center

Not everyone has internet access. Others just have questions. For help, call Augusta Health Vaccination Center at 540.332.5122. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help staff answer questions and help schedule appointments for vaccinations.
